I Knew It

Tomorrow = another snow day/optional teacher workday.  Well, there goes spring break.  I was supposed to have taught the audition excerpts for the spring musical today and tomorrow because the auditions are supposed to be Wednesday and Thursday.  I have no idea if that's going to happen now.  I am also concerned about the honor choir trip this coming weekend.  If the winter weather stays away this week, we should be fine but you never know. I can't believe this weather.  I haven't seen this much snow here since I was a kid.

I can't wait for spring.

Home

I have decided to come back home to Xanga.  I decided tonight that I need something familiar back in my life.  While I have enjoyed my stint at blogspot, this feels more like home.  Xanga was there for me through both ridiculously silly and somewhat life altering events and now I want to come back.

Tonight I was reminded of a rule that I have tried to live by.  That rule is, whenever I have anything remotely alcoholic to drink (even in the smallest amount... tonight I had two glasses of wine with some cheese) I should not, under any circumstances reminisce or take trips down memory lane.  I saw new pictures of an old crush and it nearly brought me to tears.  I hate that.  Beautiful smiles had with new friends and relationships I am completely jealous of.  Ah well... it's the story of my life.  By they way, if these new entries are still forwarded to in boxes and "you" happen to read it, I'm not talking about you.  Some day, I hope to be much thinner and have everything going for me and then have a reason to meet this crush again.  Am I the only person left in the world who still has that fantasy?  Showing up, looking fabulous, doing well and seeing that person.  That happened in reverse to me not too long after we were out of each other's every day.  I hated it.  That's why I know it would feel great if the tables were turned.  I'm probably wrong, but what are fantasies for if not to pretend we know exactly how to make things work our for ourselves?

Tomorrow is an optional teacher work day, except I don't really have the option as I'm a new teacher.  I might be able to make up the hours next weekend though when I take my kids to Cleveland for honor choir.  I'll find out about that.  It sounds possible.

I'm sick of the snow.  I want spring to get here.

Later Lovers.

New Place

So I've been convinced to start a new blog.  If you are at all interested you can find me at philliphaynie.blogspot.com.  I will most likely keep my xanga, but I don't know how often I will update it.  It depends on whether or not I get into my new space.  It's trustworthy Xanga vs. Blogspot...  who will win?

November 15th

So I'm totally jealous of my folks.  They were recently in a rather serious car accident which completely destroyed their truck.  That is not what I'm jealous of...  I'm not that weird I promise.  Anyway, this old man was driving down the road with his wife and their three friends from Russia in the van and he happened to fall asleep just as they were passing my mom and dad.  And my mom and dad were on their way to my school to pick up my paycheck since I was in Cleveland for Jay and Megan's wedding.  My sister sent me a picture of the truck on my phone...  yikes.  Anyway, long story short, mom and dad were being screwed by the old man's insurance and it was starting to look like nothing good was going to come of the whole situation.  Then, today they went to the flea market in their rental and they came back in a brand new GMC Envoy.  It's a really nice suv and their payment went down and have all this extra coverage and all kinds of things that make me super duper jealous.  I got to drive it and I totally want one.  I hope my next car will be a small suv.  It would be great if it were a new Rav 4...  those are sweet.

I love Friends.  Every episode makes me laugh every time I watch any one of them.

I bought my plane ticket to Santa Fe yesterday.  It wasn't as expensive as I thought and I get to fly from Asheville.  It would have only cost about $25 less to fly from Knoxville or Charlotte or some other bigger airport and I would have had to spend money on gas and all that.  So I'm thankful that I get to fly out of my home town (basically) which will save time and gas money.  Holla.  I think I have also decided that if I get to go back to Santa Fe next summer that I will drive.  I've never driven very far, so it would be a fun road trip and then I will have a car out there.  That means I won't be dependant on other people to get me around and I can take my dog.  Hooray for taking Puppy to Santa Fe!  Which reminds me...  my friend Catherine did not get asked to sing last summer and she got all kinds of upset (even though she has always said that she never wanted to sing in the summer and that singing in the winter was enough) and decided to protest by not letting anyone stay with her.  Anyone means me.  She told me and the Desert Chorale office that she was just too busy to let anyone stay there when she was actually making  stand against how unfair they were treating people.  Anyway, she isn't singing for the winter season, but she has been asked to direct the cabaret, so she's fine again and has already asked me to stay with her again.  I knew this would happen.  I don't mind because I kind of get her and stuff like that is kind of expected...  however, I do not look forward to all the cat hair.  OMG the cat hair.  I'll live though.  At least I'm not allergic.  I also already got an invitation to one of the board members' houses for a nice dinner.  Well, I think we all were, but still.  He's a wine collector, and by wine collector I don't mean a few bottles in a room in his basement.  I mean he has a special room set aside that is specially cooled and monitored with hundreds of bottles all catalogued and sectioned by year and whatever other ways there are to categorize wine.  I didn't like wine until last summer when he invited us over and had a different wine for each course that complimented whatever we were eating.  Holy Moses it was amazing and now I get to do it again.  Yum.  I can't wait to get back there and get singing again.  Not to mention the people who are singing are great.  The men's section is going to be super great.  I'm not sure about the ladies as a lot of them are new.  I'm sure it will be great though.  I'm also looking forward to having a laptop in Santa Fe.  Now I won't have to go to the Daily Grind and pay for internet access.  It's like I'm a grown up or something.  That reminds me...  I can't wait to get my own place again.  I hope that happens soon.  Really soon.

Later Lovers.

I think...

that some Christians are dumb and they are the one's people take notice of therefore making all of us look dumb.  Awesome.
